ROLE

Jeff leads a team of sales/use tax professionals in DMA’s central region. He ensures DMA’s Client Service Principles are embraced by the team and that best practices are utilized to deliver exceptional service to DMA’s clients. Jeff also works closely with clients and DMA’s sales/use tax professionals to develop and implement tax planning strategies that result in significant tax savings. He plans, organizes, and performs sales/use tax recovery reviews for large public and private corporations. Jeff analyzes client transaction tax data, reviews sales/use tax audit assessments, and files the necessary refunds and appeals. He also negotiates with auditors and hearing officers regarding audit assessments and refunds, performs sales/use tax managed audits on behalf of clients, establishes managed compliance agreements, and provides sales/use tax training in DMA and industry seminars. Jeff proactively works with state tax authorities to ensure DMA’s clients receive equitable treatment compared to other taxpayers in the same state and industry.

  • Relocated from DMA’s Indianapolis office to its Minnesota office to expand his breadth of state expertise and manage and train a team of sales/use tax professionals
