The Superfund excise tax was reinstated on July 1, 2022, with an expiration date of December 31, 2031.
This tax is imposed on sales of listed “taxable chemicals” and chemical-containing imported substances utilizing one or more of the hazardous chemicals in manufacturing production. Companies must understand whether a product is subject to this tax or if an exemption applies.
