Matt leads and supervises an experienced group of property tax professionals throughout Canada. He ensures DMA’s property tax services are best-in-class for DMA’s entire client base. In addition, Matt works directly with DMA’s clients on issues of strategic planning and compliance. His industry-specific education and knowledge, along with his vast experience in valuation services, enable him to maximize results for DMA’s clients. Matt is focused on building long-term relationships based on trust and exceptional service.
EXPERTISE
25+ years in property tax; 11 years with DMA
- Background in ICI real estate valuation, with experience in valuations of all property types for a wide range of clients
- 25 years of experience in municipal taxation and real estate consulting
- Prior to joining DMA, Matt was an Associate Vice President at a global commercial real estate services firm
- Worked as a Senior Manager of Property Tax Services for a Big Four accounting firm and as a Senior Assessor with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC)
- Possesses an in-depth knowledge of municipal tax policy, assessment policy and legislation, valuation theory, and assessment procedures
- Expert witness at the Assessment Review Board on many occasions
- Generated $45M+ in property tax savings for clients
