As Managing Director and SAP Consulting Lead, Talal oversees the technical/ functional design, project management, and project delivery for SAP integrations and custom solutions. He works closely with DMA’s clients to determine and define requirements efficiently, develop the most appropriate integration solution, and manage the implementation of the solution. Talal has a broad knowledge base in many functional and project management areas, including tax calculation, sales and use tax return preparation, G/L reconciliation, manufacturing sub-contracting tax implications, and audit defense, allowing him to benefit the client and overall project significantly.

  • Leads DMA’s SAP team, providing consulting services and delivery for the SAP third-party tax engine integrations
  • Extensive experience in determining requirements and designing custom solutions for SAP’s Tax Interface
  • Maintains functional working knowledge of SAP SD/FI/MM and configurations in tax engines, including AvaTax, ONESOURCE, Vertex O, Vertex Returns, and Taxware
  • Expertise in implementation processes, integration procedures, project management, product and customer taxability determination, organizational settings, testing procedures, and cutover procedures
  • Previously responsible for various functional areas, including sales and use tax compliance, data management, data processing, filing requirements, and sales and use tax audit defense; led a group of tax accountants and interns on projects that involved process improvements, compliance automation, and development of an in-house compliance engine
