ROLE
Paul performs detailed reviews and analyses of real and personal property tax assessments for a variety of corporate taxpayers. He identifies tax savings opportunities and implements tax savings recommendations for DMA’s clients. Paul negotiates assessments at the informal level, before assessment appeal boards, and in litigation support. He also secures abatements and exemptions for DMA’s clients. In addition, Paul works closely with DMA’s Austin, TX property tax team to implement best practices and analytical models and provides training to DMA staff.
EXPERTISE

- Experience includes ad-valorem tax valuation appeals, negotiations with taxing authorities, acquisition due diligence, litigation support, and property tax exemptions
- Wide range of real estate valuation engagements, including unitary valuation, PPAs, commercial property portfolios, leasehold interests, and development land
- Experience consulting with private equity funds, banks, REITS, and corporate owners and operators
- Previously worked in the specialty tax and valuation services groups at a risk and financial advisory firm
- Served as a business analyst at Fortune 500 brands
