What to Expect

Our entire team takes a collaborative approach to maximize the intern experience. Collectively, we offer students an authentic look into an entry-level role, help them understand a career in this field, and empower them to reflect on their experience.

Our overall goal is to educate our interns on all aspects of DMA and the corporate tax consulting industry while also providing professional development for real-world applications. DMA interns work with real data sets, real clients, real deadlines, current projects, and relevant software—what better way to determine if this industry is right for you?

Internship Program: Built to Offer More

Intern Mentorship Program

To help with professional development, our interns are enrolled in the LEAD Mentorship Program and are strategically matched with professional staff once desired mentorship styles, interests, and strengths are assessed.

Disc Personality Assessment

The DiSC assessment is a tool provided to DMA interns to learn more about their personalities, communication styles, drives, and relationships. Micro-learning sessions are scheduled throughout the semester to dive deeper into the DiSC styles and ways to build stronger relationships.

Intern Education Series

We created this series to provide our interns with connections, content, and learning opportunities to understand our practice areas, our people, and DMA as a company.

Networking Opportunities

As we immerse our students in our corporate culture, they have access to build relationships and network with our employee-owners, executive leadership team, and current and previous interns.

Summer Intern Summit

Interns are invited to our Indianapolis office for a multi-day intern summit during the summer semester. We provide the summit experience for networking, professional development, community service, professional dinners, and fun activities to build relationships between our intern cohort and employee-owners. DMA covers lodging, travel, and food while bringing together interns from across the world.

Resume Tips from Our Recruiting Team

Thinking about applying but still working on your resume? Here are three quick tips to consider from the DMA recruiting team before submitting your application.

PROOFREAD

Take your time to proofread to ensure accuracy in spelling and grammar. This will showcase your great attention to detail.

Keep it simple, clear, and organized

We suggest keeping your resume on one page, using simple formatting that highlights the essential information. Doing this will show us your ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.

Important pieces of information to have on your resume include:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Education (school, location, major, and graduation date/anticipated graduation date)
  • Work experience (employer, position, dates of employment, location, job responsibilities, and related accomplishments)

We highly encourage you to leverage available resources to create a powerful resume—reach out to your school’s Career Services, trusted professors, classmates, or friends. AI platforms can also be great tools to help you get started.

Tell your story

Everyone brings a unique experience to the table, so don’t be afraid to share your experience and showcase your work ethic through the experiences you’ve had so far. We look forward to learning more about you!
