ROLE
Matt supports a team of credits & incentives professionals serving leading businesses across North America. He assists clients across the credits & incentives lifecycle, including incentive assessment, procurement, compliance, and monetization. Matt coordinates with regional C&I experts and collaborates with DMA’s property tax and sales tax teams to maximize value for clients.
EXPERTISE
6 years in credits and incentives; 1 year with DMA
- Experienced in implementing discretionary tax incentives, including state income tax credits, property tax abatements, sales tax exemptions/rebates, withholding tax offsets, and cash grants
- Routinely performs project-specific incentive reviews to identify an appropriate combination of incentives to pursue based on project-specific cost profiles
- Additional experience with federal renewable energy tax incentives, including cross-program “bonus credits” such as Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship and Domestic Content
- Considerable experience supporting clients through compliance filings to monetize both discretionary and statutory incentives and advising on remediation activities to mitigate the risk of recapture events
- Monitors evolving tax and incentive policy developments across the Midwest and Southeast
- Successfully implemented pandemic relief programs for clients totaling $250M+ in savings
