ROLE
Julie leads a team of sales and use tax professionals in DMA’s southwest region. She ensures DMA’s Client Service Principles are embraced by the team and that best practices are utilized to deliver exceptional services to DMA’s clients. Julie works closely with clients and DMA’s sales and use tax professionals to develop and implement tax planning strategies that result in significant tax savings. She plans, organizes, and performs sales and use tax recovery reviews for large public and private corporations. Julie analyzes clients’ transaction tax data, reviews sales and use tax audit assessments, and files the necessary refunds and appeals. She also negotiates with auditors and hearing officers regarding audit assessments and refunds, performs sales and use tax managed audits on behalf of clients, establishes managed compliance agreements, and provides sales and use tax training seminars. Julie proactively works with state tax authorities to ensure DMA’s clients receive equitable treatment as compared to other taxpayers in the same state and industry.
