Role

Roy works closely with DMA’s clients to conduct sales/use tax recovery reviews and transaction analyses for DMA’s Fortune 1000 clients. He performs nexus reviews, develops tax matrices, and reviews sales/use tax audit assessments. Roy also negotiates with auditors regarding audit assessments and refunds, and informs clients of tax law changes affecting their industries. Additionally, he assists in providing training seminars to clients and conducts tax research on an ongoing basis. Roy’s core focus at DMA is studying transaction tax law
to ensure exceptional services are provided to DMA’s clients.

  • Assists Fortune 500 companies on state and local tax matters with an emphasis on audit management and maximizing refund opportunities
  • Assists clients in audit and overpayment review data extraction and verification, primarily through SAP
  • Manages audits, performs proactive sales/use tax reviews, and negotiates with state taxing authorities
  • Extensive sales/use tax experience with clients in diverse industries, particularly in utilities, manufacturing, chemicals/refining, and oil & gas
  • Successfully negotiates reductions in sales/use tax audit assessments, and delivers customized training
    to some of the largest companies in the US
  • Has performed hundreds of sales/use tax reviews and saved clients over $50M
  • Counsels tax leaders and works to continually improve client tax processes
