Florida Requires Supermajority Vote

With Amendment 5 passing post-election with nearly 66% of the vote, new criteria has been created when imposing or increasing state taxes or fees. If a new or increased tax is proposed, it is required to receive two-thirds of the vote to create a supermajority. Currently, 15 states require a supermajority vote for some taxes.
