The Canadian Revenue Agency Updated Authorization Process and Online Abilities

by DMA Staff | Mar 27, 2020

In February, the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) introduced a new online way to authorize representatives. It has discontinued forms T1013, RC59 and NR95 and merged them into AUT-01, which authorizes representatives for access by phone or mail. To e-File a request for online access, T1 and T2 software can be used. Note that new signature pages will be issued and must be signed by the taxpayer. All requests will be processed as new and will override previous forms on file.

In addition to this, the CRA has updated its My Business Account service to allow services such as closing accounts, requesting refunds, and changing business names.
